incentives

The last few years have seen an explosion in interest and motivation for small wind and other renewable energy sources. Political and economic factors have combined to lead interest to an all time high, and goverments from the federal to the local level have enacted a variety of incentives to spur the development of small wind and other renewable energy sources. In addition, utilities and non-profits have also begun been providing consumers with rebates and other incentives.

The Database of State Incentives for Renewables and Efficiency (DSIRE) is operated by the North Carolina Solar Center and the Interstate Renewable Energy Council (IREC), under funding provided by the Department of Energy.  DSIRE serves as a comprehensive repository of information on both public and private incentives, and provides access to a wealth of information via an easy-to-navigate web site.

Some of the most useful tools and displays are listed here, with additional details and more information available at the DSIRE web site.

Income Tax (Personal and Corporate) Credits
